i freaking love this!

i had a similar incident a few backs in ireland with a crazy landlord/ next door neighbor, and although it was irritating i couldnt help but see the humor and hyprocracy in the entire situation. i only wish blogging was more popular back then as i would be doing exactly what you are.

best of luck with this outcome, maybe you can get all those other renters on the same law suit and really hit gary where it hurts: his security deposits!
