If you want the text to be larger and in red, try putting these font tags around it:

(text text text)

This blog is like candy to me.
• TJ Dietsch · 5 months ago
It's even better if you read Gary's words like the Tall Man from the Phantasm flicks.
• Mom · 5 months ago
You sound like such a nice person. I'm sorry that you have had to deal with this --these types of people. I'm sure that everyone has had at least on really messed up landlord... But I am sure that not THAT bad. Good luck to you! Please keep us posted as I am most intrigued.

I can see people in years to come studying Gary as we now do Shakespeare... Is he implying that he is in fact Gabe's father? Is his constant capitalisation and use of grammar the way forward for the English language? What is this 'FOCK' he speaks of? Time will tell.
• gdunn02 · 5 months ago
That would certainly make for an interesting plot twist.
• Enrico · 4 months ago
He's obviously referring to a Fock space. This supports my theory that Gary is actually working at CERN.
• Bemused · 5 months ago
I find this whole exchange interesting, because if you go back to the eviction 'notice' it is CLEARLY not grammatically correct. "Your are evicted" is a much larger grammar error than saying "I got"... Interesting.
• gdunn02 · 5 months ago
You don't have to go as far back as that. His response email was "THERE A GREAT DEAL...."
• Carly · 5 months ago
Dear Gary,

Please keep being crazy! This is the most fun I've had at work in a long time.

I've laughed out loud numerous times. He's FOCKIN' crazy!
• Tom · 5 months ago
Gabe..... I am your [FOCKING] father.....

Great stuff dude, keep it coming.

We called the fat orange cat (f.o.c.) in my old apartment complex Fock, so everytime I read it here I think of a large cat strutting around a parking lot, meowing at the neighbors. That does keep it awfully cute :)

If you want to type something in larger font and red, you can do this:

This text will be larger and in red

And I hit this from www.patrick.net.

Look, Gary is obviously having a very hard time. Money problems might be part of it, job problems, etc. I am sure he's under a lot of stress and his anger at the situation is bleeding out to the rest of you.

Taking him to court, although it might give you some satisfaction, won't likely get your money back.

Now, I also realize that some people are just assholes, and that's the way they are. Gary may be an asshole, but assholes will always exist. My advice, is just walk away and write this up to "lesson in life". I only feel sorry for Gary. I have bordered with an insane landlord too, and although I harbored ideas of revenge for years, the fact of the matter is, it was an interesting experience and that was probably worth the $1,500 it cost me to live in a hotel for 2 weeks and lose my deposit.
• Lymojo · 5 months ago
No. No, that's a terrible idea. You definitely shouldn't expect to ever get your money back - obviously - but you will be depriving the world of so many sumptuous lulz if you don't bring him to court.
• richardwicks · 5 months ago
Look, picking on a retarded kid might be fun, but it's still a retarded kid.

You're thinking Gary is a normal, human being. He's not.

What chance do you think Gary has of having a happy enjoyable life - for example?

I'm telling you, it's worthless to torture him. He's already tortured, twisting the knife isn't going to make anybody happier. You guys just don't really understand, Gary isn't some guy that has lost his temper or is a little odd, he's a man that has no future and is screwed for life. Do you think this man could have a relationship with... anybody? How many friends do you think Gary has? You think he has a girlfriend perhaps? A possible wife?

Maybe he does - that just means this world is crazier than I thought.

Personal problems are no excuse for poor behavior.
• gdunn02 · 5 months ago
I think this blog is supposed to be just as much, if not more so, about my experience of all this. For this reason, I have avoided taking potshots at Gary and think I have made it pretty clear that I am not "out for revenge." It seems unfair that I should have to keep silent about my end of this because Gary is unbalanced.
• Kathy · 5 months ago
It's not even incorrect to say "I got your voicemail." The verb is in the past tense. It's only wrong to say "I got" when you're speaking in the present tense and mean "I have got..."
• Pat · 5 months ago
He's saying that HE, Gary, went to Holy Cross Cathedral, and that that is where he learned his grammar.

GO FOCK YOURSELF, YOU LYING INDIANA COWARD… THE HOLY CROSS BROTHERS DRILLED GRAMMAR INTO OUR BRAINS @ CATHEDRAL HS…..

=

I hate you, you liar. The teachers from Holy Cross Cathedral, my high school, made sure my fellow students and I understood grammar.

" I didn’t realize you were such a stickler on grammar."
I don't know who you are, but I love you for that line. ♥
• Goran · 5 months ago
"Luckily, everytime an email starts to get a little creepy, he’ll use the term “FOCK,” and then it gets kind of cute again."

You're my hero.
• elizabeth · 5 months ago
wow. this is incredible. what a crazy guy.
i'm a brebeuf grad :D haha
• Jack · 4 months ago
Also, since we're nitpicking grammar, your use of "got" should be fine and formal enough even for old-school grammarians, unless there's a past tense for "to get" I'm unaware of. It's the use of "got" to mean "to have" or "must" that is considered informal and gets in the craw of some folks.

But you were probably right not to engage Gary in the finer nuances of English grammar.

I'm ashamed to admit that Gary and I went to the same high school. I wonder how he managed to graduate...
• Johnny Covert · 4 months ago
Looks to me like his mention of Cathedral is that he's saying HE went there. You challenged his grammar, so he's defending himself by saying "THE HOLY CROSS BROTHERS DRILLED GRAMMAR INTO OUR BRAINS @ CATHEDRAL HS". "OUR" brains.
