Aaaarghh this must be downtown St. Charles. Please, if you respond to any comment, please let it be this one. It this the house that always has the sign outside that says "Shared Housing, $___ a month"? I drrive by that place every day, and always thought that sign was sketch, and it totally sounds like this place is just a house full of randoms living together because the owner is trying to make his mortgage.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I have a family member with roommate/landlord sagas in St.C, so I can sympathize.

After reading Gary's conversations and emails (this one in particular), he reminds me a lot of Doyle Hargraves, the character from "Sling Blade" played by Dwight Yoakam. He sounds like a drunken mid-westerner who has not the time for things like logic and reasoning, nor should he, for he has a long night of laborious drinking ahead of him!

The line that got me in particular is when Gary called your friend Matt a spic, which just reminded me of the scene where Doyle is screaming at Karl (Billy Bob Thornton) and Vaughan (John Ritter) to get out of 'his house': "Hey! I said get out of my house! That goes for cocksuckers and retards!"

If you've never watched "Sling Blade", by all means do so, it's a fantastic movie. If you have watched it, do it again, but watch it as a dark comedy, not as a drama, it makes the movie ten times better.

You have painted the most hilarious mental image of this guy for me. And providing pictures has helped. The "Unintelligible screaming" part had me laughing so hard i almost spilled water on my keyboard. I can just picture him in nothing but boxers just screaming and waving his arms like he was on a roller coaster. It's nice to see you're taking everything in stride as opposed to counter-attacks which would simply put you in the same position as him
