I just started following the Gary saga yesterday, and I have to tell you that it has kept me and my entire family very entertained so far. We can't seem to stop saying "I know you're bipolar". :)
I sort of love Gary for being so unabashedly...um...whatever it is that he is, but what I find most entertaining about this whole thing is your commentary and amazing ability to remain polite and cheerful during all of your interactions with him.
Cheers, and I sincerely hope you get your security deposit and housewares back soon!

Is it selfish to ask you to NOT move out at this point? Can you send me Gary's address? I'd like to send me a valentines day card :)

I think that it would be in everyone's best interest if you would move back to Gary's place

    Dear Gabe:

I just read the entire saga, after finding the link on failblog, and I had to tell you that I am so sorry you have to go through this obnoxious song and dance to get your deposit back.

I, however, am in a MUCH better mood than I was 20 minutes ago. Way to turn your tribulations into a public service. Much obliged.

Gary is obviously a member of MENSA. Is he single? I'd hate to think of him pro-creating. THAT would a national tragedy.

Following from the other voicemails that have been left, that one was pretty "to the point" and not our usual "Gary"... Maybe he's missing you? Maybe he doesn't remember which tenant you are?

This man is insane. I'm sorry for you. If nothing more, if he accepts Brown's offer, you can let him humiliate himself publically. And people will recognize him from now on - you can save future tenants everywhere!

I'm really dying to know how this all pans out. Also, just a neutral observer, dude seems really dangerous. so, uh... you know, be careful. Even old, fat, crazy, drunk dudes can put a serious hurting on people. Good luck. And again, be careful. For real.

Man, you have to kill this old guy, you cannot leave him alive, seriously, he deserves the worst death you can imagine. If you'd prefer not to kill him then Good luck with the trial and your work outside the country!

Now I wish I'd done a blog when my hubby and myself were sued a year and a half ago by our asshole landlord who sold us the house we were renting... Our original agreement was that we would rent the place until we had everything in order to buy it (at 2 1/2 x its original price, as it later turned out)... After the paperwork was signed and the place was ours, the dick demanded of my husband that we pay the entire utilities on the house when his accounts were tallied, after we assumed control - that is, the entire bill, including the two years BEFORE we moved in. When he refused, the asshole threatened him. And then we were served - in the paperwork, he not only claimed that we had never ever paid him any rent (stupidly, we gave him cash because he didn't want a paper trail - now we know why), but he also stated that the reason he'd never evicted us for non-payment (uh, because we ALWAYS paid you?) was because we were such slobs that he didn't want the property back. Never mind that the furnace he said was less than 10 years old had actually been installed in the 1960s, and had a giant hole in one side which might have killed us all in our sleep for CO2 poisoning, if not for all the drafts in the old place. Never mind that he told us we should fake a hydro upgrade to make sure we got house insurance. Unfortunately, the judge sided with him, since we had no proof that we did pay him, and now it's going to be another year of money down the drain. Live and learn, I guess. Pricks like that will one day get theirs. I know it.

Gabe, hope everything's okay, it's been a couple of weeks since your last post. Any updates? Even if you can't give any details because of Legal Stuff, at least let us know you're still okay. I for one would be very sad to learn you died from being crushed under an avalanche of Gary name-calling.

I've been waiting anxiously for the latest update. I hope you haven't had a run in with Gary. It's obvious that this guy knows no bounds.
